Overpressure protection study for tie-back

A European engineering house has awarded BPT a service project to analyze the overpressure protection system related to tie-in of new production wells to and existing host processing facility.

“We selected BPT to perform this study due to their track-record with applying dynamic simulations to provide high-fidelity and reliable process safety analysis of critical operational scenarios”, states a representative of the engineering company.

Experienced BPT specialists will carry out the study utilizing integrated dynamic simulator models with interlinked OLGA multiphase flow simulator for wells and subsea production system and selected process simulator of the topside inlet process facility. The BPT senior engineers have in-depth and hands-on inter-discipline experience of the technical requirements provided by international standards (API Std 521), regulations and company requirements. The study will also include calculations of mechanical forces caused by transient flow and considerations for pipe support.
