Detailed tie-back analyses at NCS

The BPT team is delighted about the major technical safety and operability study awarded from a leading international EPC company for a subsea field tied back to an existing production platform.

“We are proud and honored by the trust shown. This build on decades of experience gained from about 100 tie-back projects performed by BPT to date”, informs a member of the BPT board of directors.

The subsea field as well as the host facility is located at the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The detailed study is carried out for a major engineering firm, while both the subsea field operator as well as the host operator are involved.

The main objectives with the study are to validate the technical safety and operability for various possible scenarios in operation. Some of the scenarios is to verify the pressure protection of inlet arrangement for operations for the relief contingency cases Inadvertent Valve Opening (IVO) and Choke Collapse (CC). The dynamic simulation will verify the primary and secondary level of over pressure protection for the inlet arrangement and flare, including production and test separators.
