Stargate Hydrogen and Billington Process Technology AS (BPT) have in collaboration performed a benchmarking activity for green Hydrogen production.
BPT received information about the physical dimensions of the Stargate Hydrogen electrolyzer as well as a performance curve of the expected over potential as a function of the current. BPT introduced this information in the BPT-ECX simulator unit operation application and compared the results with the data received from Stargate. Based on the benchmarking results, the BPT-ECX is well fitted to be used in high-performance steady state and dynamic simulation models when accuracy is of importance.

UniSim Design was used as the basis for the benchmarking, with BPT-SimApps seamlessly integrated with UniSim. This included a fit-for-purpose model of electrolysis (BPT-ECX). In addition, BPT-EXT Excel-add-in was used for easy comparison of simulation results.
